About this book

A 1968 collection of four Conan stories with an introduction, a map of the Hyborian Age and an essay by L. Sprague de Camp. "Black Tears", by de Camp and Lin Carter, was made from Howard's notes, and "The Flame Knife" was a modern adventure that de Camp turned into a Conan tale.

In Howard's own "Shadows in Zamboula", Conan is destitute after a week of carousing and gambling, and in "The Devil in Iron" he goes back to the sea as a pirate.
